Have a 2000 C5 Corvette whenever I start my Corvette climate control doesn't come on hesitates for a few minutes while car is running and then a clicking noise from the fuse box inside the car and then climate control comes on everything else in the car works fine help?
Do you have memory seats? If so, set the climate the way you want and put into memory. It will be that way every time you start up. If you want it off on start up then set it to the off position and it willl be that way when you return.
Maybe I didn't explain it right Paul, when I start my Corvette the climate control doesn't come on right away when the car is running even the climate control display lights do not work for a few minutes and then I hear a click in the fuse box inside the car and display lights and climate control starts working after 5 minutes or more what could be the problem?
Well, I wasn't sure about the length of time before the system activated. All of the systems go through a self check when you energize the key to on position. I believe the BCM controls the climate control. Have you pulled the codes from the DIC? Start there and post if any codes. Do the check before you shut the engine down. To me it sounds like a relay or bad ground. There are others that are far more skilled in this area than me. Perhaps they will chime in. Good luck.
My issues started with what looked like an ECBM problem. Traction Control and ABC errors on my dash and associated DTC's. I had changed the battery and things cleared up for a very short period. Then the AC would not work and the display was dark. Check Engine came on. Other DTC's came on unexpectedly. AC inoperable. A couple NO COMM's too.
After further research, the ignition switch was noted as a possible culprit. After going through forums and reading posts I decided that my situation was very, very similar to others that had with a bad ignition switch. The investment here was much less expensive than getting a new ECBM as for my 1999, it cannot be rebuilt.
As soon as I started the car with the new switch all error lights cleared. I cleared all DTC's and began driving the car to have the system re-cycled. NO MORE CODES after 100 miles. AC now operational. Car seems to drive better as all modules are being controlled as designed. I hope to get the car smogged after driving for another 50-75 miles.
Buried in this thread is the instructions for cleaning the ignition switch. I am 99% sure that the symptoms you describe will be cured with cleaning the switch.
