Just got my c5 back from body shop. Paint looks fantastic - perfect match - few issues they need to fix, haze on windows and an issue on kick panel.
They indicated they replaced the driver front fender, to include the inner fender. However, the black plastic/rubber piece inside the fender vent is still loose. I say still, as its been loose since I bought the car, but it never really bothered me.
I guess my question is... is the plastic piece you can see/feel inside the vent not part of the inner fender - that I would have thought would have been fixed with the replacement? Or is it separate? Dont want to accuse anyone of not doing what they say so doing my DD.
Inside vent
Any thoughts? Also attached the kick panel paint issue. Cant tell if this is taped off area with over spray or what. Paint

I think that part has been loose on my car since new, just assumed it was supposed to be. Interested to see others thoughts on this. I may go and lift the cover on mine today to see if mine is indeed loose.

That piece is held on by a couple of screws I believe. Even when completely tightened down, there is some flexibility as it is only attached on one side. Depending on how much the piece moves, it could be that the body shop did not completely tighten down the plastic piece.
Jack could be right, I have done so much to my car hard to remember everything, but I think they just have the plastic push pins. I seem to remember replacing them with screws and nuts !!
The other side is tight. Significant difference. Just trying to run the odds that they too would not reconnect this after having the entire fender apart. Unless they saw it was not connected when they took it apart and thus didnt try.
Yes, that piece is attached with a couple of body screws and not very sturdy but you should pull the rear part of the front wheel well and check it anyway.
