Default Got Rear ended Today

I got rear ended today on my way to work. I was sitting at a red light and a truck didn't stop in time. Damage seems to be minor but it is hard to tell until it is taken apart. Thankfully no one was hurt. Does anyone know of a good shop that does work on vettes in the Dothan, Alabama area. Oh ya and to make matters worse her insurance expired last night.

Damage looks minor but for the front of the truck to hit the fin it must have caved the bumper in pretty far.

Fin is split on both sides

Glad you are OK and cars can be fixed. Good luck working through this, especially if she has expired insurance.

Another driver with no insurance, hope you called the police.
I watch Judge Judy, when ever in accident, always call the police. The person will say anything to not have the police involved when they are in wrong.

Definitely called the police and am getting a report. Also called my insurance and they are going to take care of everything.

Sorry about the accident and the responsible party not having insurance. I would make a claim against her insurance company anyway. Many times insurance carrier's have a grace time for paying premiums and will backdate the coverage. If nothing more, you can get your accident on her insurance records.

Hope the damage is minor.

The damage doesn't look that bad honestly. The RIMM construction did it's job, absorbed most of the impact, and maintained shape. You will likely have to have a minor insurance adjustment done once the rear fascia is removed. Even a low speed impact on the rear fascia can push in the impact absorber and possibly damage the fiberglass tub. Hopefully the tub was not damaged in any way, since that would be more work than the fascia. OEM rear fascias and reproductions are still available so it'll likely be replaced and painted to match; the result will look like it was never hit.

The spoiler may be the only challenge. I believe that is what is referred to as the ACI (American Custom Industries) "low profile spoiler" and I've seen a few C5s with them. It's a bit of an old piece since more modern styles have circumvented it's use but vendors still offer it.

You got off lucky she hit you slow and perfectly plumb.
Looks like all you need to do is repaint the spoiler.

Very happy for you all will be taken care of. Uninsured drivers are rampant these days. Good luck with your repair and best wishes!

Good luck. The only reason I have a vette now is because my camry got totalled in august. My back is still messed up, I was stopped and lady was texting and hit me at 50mph. Settlement should be finalized next month I hope. Too bad you filed a claim on your insurance, your rates will now go up for someone else's stupidity. There is no excuse for driving without insurance, I'd take them to court personally.

Default California problem

The San Jose, California police will not come to the scene of an accident unless there's blood. That works great for you if the driver is an uninsured illegal. Be grateful that you have law and order where you live.
