The adjustment isn't so much to do with leaks, but top alignment.
If not adjusted correctly, it could possibly bend one of the bows.
I read this on another thread a while back, when I needed to adjust mine.

Bob.

Thanks Bob. I found your previous post with link to adjustment procedure.
Great pics and write up.
My B Pillar adjustment is perfect. Glass does not touch fabric on open or close doors and no leaks around windows (heh, unless I hit them directly with pressure washer) I will make adjustment to #5 Bow tomorrow.

Nice job! I am not sure that I would be able to tackle that job.

Looks really good and I bet a great since of self satisfaction.
Do you have any links that you can point to that helped you install? Did you have to set the rear glass or was it factory applied? My rear glass is detached across it's top and partial sides and I'm guessing that's why my door glass is now touching the top in the upper rear corners. Also the top at the rear deck behind the passenger seat has rubbed thru the paint in spot.

I got lots of great advice here on the Forum! Here's a pretty good link.

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-bad-long.html

Above link use spray on contact cement. I used Dap liquid contact cement (paint brush) I didn't want to be spraying stuff around.

But it confused me at first. Made it sound like you need to remove frame to install top. NO! you do not! EZ-ON top came with pretty good instructions. As you can see there was not much left of my old top to use for reverence... I cut the old top off with my pocket knife.

There are some rivets you have to drill out. that's easy. I replaced all the rivets with screws.

I did not replace head liner.

Bows are numbered Front to Back. 1 2 3 4 5.

Upright behind side windows is called B pillar.

Top is supported around side window with wire held in tension spring attached to Bow #1

1) Remove the #2 bow. 4 Torks screws. Thread the #2 bow through pocket on new top.
2) Reinstall#2 bow.
2.1) Install headliner on Bow#2 (I found screw holes in Bow 2 with nail through fabric then installed screws.
3) Thread side window tension wires into pockets. Don’t attach to Front Bow yet
4) Attach rear window support band s to Bow 4 (2 torks screws)
5) Attach new top to B pillar with contact cement and reattach weather strip mounting brackets
6) Pull rear window rear support tight around Bow #5. Glue with contact cement.
7) Pull Top Fabric tight around Bow #5 glue with contact cement. Staple fabric to plastic strip under Bow #5. Cut excess fabric away. Reinstall rear weather strip. ( I had a hard time getting the weaterstrip back in its groove. Two nuts to install at each end of weather strip. I just reached around fabric and installed them by feel and sense of smell.
8)Reattach tension wires to Bow #1. Use a little screw driver to pry the wires back into the guides. (like popping the springs back on drum brake shoes)
9) With frame nearly closed in front, pull fabric tight around Bow #1
10) Latch Top and make sure everything is tight and in place.
11) Unlatch Top and contact glue fabric to Bow #1.
12) Replace front cover (9 torks screws)
13) Replace Weather strip on side windows.

Front was originally stapled. I did not do this. I glued front cover to fabric then put in the 9 torks screws. I guess pity the next guy trying to replace that top.

I probably left something out ... thats just how I remember what I did.
Hope it helps

I thought the frame had to come off. Another guy did it and and posted some pics with the frame off. That's one reason I would never have considered doing it myself.

If frame would have needed to be removed I would not have done it either.
It's just me and my 5 foot nothing 105lb gf. Don't think the two of us could have lifted the frame.
