Ed, attention to detail?????
I noticed the rotors look as if they were fly cut on a lathe .. but I think ( knowing you as I do ) you would not have them fly cut just to remove surface rust ( I could be wrong... but it would be the first time in my life I was ever wrong ) the thing I did notice however, is what appears to be the very steady hand of a very OCD person using a 90 degree grinder with an #80 grit sanding pad with attention to the sanding pattern.
They do look machined, but knowing you, you did these by hand. and they look perfect.
Good eye as usual, Bill. I took it to a shop that specializes in high performance vehicles and specializes in brakes. If you look closely, you'll notice circumferential cuts as well. I believe the process they use is to measure first then cut these on a conventional bench lathe to achieve the proper runout and take a minimal of material off. The secondary, radial sanding pattern you mention was also done by the shop. This was probably a finishing process they used (I assume a machine-mounted sanding pad to keep it true) to minimize the possibility of squeals. I've spoken with machinists who work on brakes and was told the cross-hatch pattern helps prevent grooving and squealing and helps the pad bedding process.
I checked them as best as I could here and they were very nicely refinished. I measured before and after and they ended up taking a little more thickness than I thought they would - .020"-.030" total per rotor, so .010"-.015" per side. They are still comfortably above minimum thickness, though.

Btw, I noticed no one asked me about the back sides of the rotors. Well, of course, I attacked those with the same passion I did the fronts. Also, note that I went the extra mile after spraying the rotors and painted the individual holes with a brush to ensure they got enough coverage as well.

Back side of rotors
Did you use a q-Tip... that's what I use....keeps the holes from bleeding rust.

Amazing transformation from what you started with. Ed, what rims and sizes will you be ordering to go with the C6Z brakes?
Mike
Haven't decided but I have been talking to John at CCW recently for his input - big brakes require additional consideration. Plus, I am adding 1.25" front flares and 2" rears.

Is John back at CCW??? he sold that business a year and a half ago to speedline.. John went to build guns for the government.. John an I always talked a lot about building guns... one of his passions and mine... You told me via text you were talking wi8th John a few days ago. I didn't think anything of that, I just thought you talked with him at his home.
Bill
If John is back at CCW, that is great news for us...

I thought he mentioned when he sold the biz that he was staying on as GM or something of the sort. He responded to me via email and then phone this time around when I emailed him about my recent questions.

strange, he was selling off some of his equipment two years ago to anyone wanting to buy.. Then sold the business... never once mentioned he was staying on in fact he said he had enough of building wheels.. The last few times we talked it was 90% about guns, suggestions for his wife's EDC, some of his likes and dislikes and building guns for the military, and 10 % about CCW.

Will you add brake ducts as well? The flares will give your car a whole new wicked and custom look. And you can add some really wide rear rims and tires for traction with that beast. Are you staying with polished rims or go with Black rims or something else?

He signed the email with "john" and also left me a VM and it sounded like him so . . .

Not planning on brake ducts at this time. I am planning on 13" rears and 10.5"-11" fronts (if those will work). Maybe 18"/19" as the tire profile gets so thin at the 19"/20" size and I'm not wanting the rubber band tire look. Not sure about finish yet but the brakes kinda' give you an idea where I'm headed.
