I have the C5 way ahead of its time in looks and performance.
now I have a C7 Z51 loaded and it is a great car..

they would not give me **** for the C5 that still runs and sounds great! so I kept it.
(would not give them the satisfaction of a trade. Am I right?)

But like you said. {and even as the owner of the new technology car C7}
I still catch myself staring at the old C5 thinking what a great looking car! "clean lines" hide-a-way lights.
I've owned it like 17 years with 196,000 miles and its still not old to me. just saying.

Besides my 72, I believe the C5 is the most beautiful American car on the street. Every time I look at it, I still get the same joy as I did the first-time I saw it on the dealer's lot. I have to be honest, I was going to trade it in when I bought my 2016 Challenger R/T Shaker, but the dealer didn't want it.

Boy, am I glad. As much as I like all the bells and whistles my Challenger came with and it's cool styling, it still can't come close to the gorgeous, timeless lines of my 17 year old Vette!

Truly!

It doesn't seem possible that that car is 16 years old. Timeless design.

Aside from the chrome bumper c3, and maybe the midyear vettes and 60's cobras, the c5 design is tops.

A C5 FRC or Z06 has one of the best styling lines of any Corvette IMHO.
and Best Bang for the Buck you can buy now. I did not buy my 2000 FRC as
an investment but as a very nice car that has all the power you really need.
Very good gas miles to for the power the car delivers.

To be honest, back before I knew anything about corvettes I saw a c5 owner get into his and start it up. I was expecting a european/exotic sound, so the cammed v8 kinda threw me off. While newer vettes have more exciting, hard lines, i still think the c5 is the best looking of the bunch.

But what do I know, I'm the guy who thinks ferrari hasn't made a good looking car (aside from MAYBE the 458) in the past 2 decades (maybe more)
