I can't understand why people don't just spend $40-$60 and get a reasonably decent battery tender. Removing batteries, resetting clocks, etc. What a waste of time.
In my case, I have spent the money and already have 2 tenders. Spending more $$$ to buy a 3rd tender totally misses the point. That is not my problem. As I stated, there is no place to plug it in.
So, back to my question: Assuming I will find my battery dead at the end of May, why can't I just get a jump and drive it?

tough call the battery could be so dead from sitting that even if you boost the car you could end up driving a few block and have it die again.
if it were me I'd pick up a new battery and swap it in.

I just got my car last summer and quickly found out on here how they suck batterys down quick from sitting. I found mine dead after 3 weeks in the garage after 2 1/2 weeks and bought the new battery and been using a tender ever since with the tender wire coming out the right side vent I found advice on here about. Works great.
That being said I too wondered about loosing memory with a dead battery and have been unhooking it for other mods I have done since then. I'm not arguing about this to anybody by any means but I find the only thing I loose memory on is the Fuel mileage starts at 0 and the clock. My seat memory is always there, key fobs will still work. I can't say much about the radio presets as I don't even fool with it and I don't see anything has ever changed when I do this although I was concerned when I first disconnected the battery.
I know they have been using the 9 volt things for years in garages but I don't understand why some people's same year and model cars will loose memory on seat, key fobs and such and others don't.
I'm just saying mine doesn't loose those particular things mentioned above and I really don't know why, maby it just has to be dead or unhooked for a longer period of time than a week I have no idea about this and am definately not arguing although I would like to know the reason for why some loose it and others don't.
