Hi guys, I'm noticing that on some of my right turns my right rear wheel feels like it's bouncing until I straighten out then it stops. Has anyone else had this issue and if so what was the fix? Thanks in advance
It sounds like the limited slip is locking in turns and your getting wheel hop.
You could have a loose or worn suspension component. The differential may need service.
slow turns ??? posi unit ??? with posi-trac the right wheel(on right turn) needs to spin more than the left and it can't because of posi-trac ???
Pounder, if the posi unit was locking up wouldn't the problem happen to either rear wheel? Also in a right turn wouldn't the right wheel turn less than the left as the radius is less for the right wheel? Could he possibly have a tire problem, as in a broken belt. I've seen this on front tires. Can't say I've ever noticed it on the rear. I'm old so probably missing something here.

well you must be younger than me , you are correct, but the right tire will still try to turn the same as the left and with posi it can't. but with your correction the left tire may want to bounce ??? I just know that when turning right the right tire can sometimes squeal, so with that thought depending on pavement may want to bounce ???? so that's what I was thinking ?? I have not heard of that issue before. at 65 what's in my head does not always come out that way on paper

No problem, I know how it is to not always say what you are thinking. Anyway,...I got you by 8 years. Sure doesn't mean that I'm any smarter, just older.
Mine locks up sometimes too. I notice it on right turns but I don't get much wheel hop or vibration. I have stiffer springs, new ball joints, C6Z sways and shocks. I'm not sure if the stock C5 base is prone to wheel hop.
I may be due for a differential fluid change as well. It cant hurt.
Thanks for all the insight and suggestions fellas...gonna get it checked out this weekend hopefully but this morning my "Right Rear Tire is Flat" warning came on but my tire's not flat. Also at slow speed right after moving....feels like tire is flat but isn't
It can be difficult to detect a bushing issue. They can slip out then back into place. They can also get soft and mushy or come loose from the control arm. I think of rubber as being composed of strands, like mozzarella cheese stretching. With age some of the strands brake making it weaker.
