I've noticed that my driver side window will jerk a few inches when I first open it. After the initial jerking it'll go down somewhat smoothly, but the jerking concerns me. Any idea what would cause this?

I had the same problem with my passenger side. During a bit of refit this winter I had the door panels off so I decided to use a little lithium grease on the tracks. I was disappointed when I tested it immediately after. Still jerky. However, after I reassembled my interior and ran the window down, no jerks! I can only surmise that the additional pressure of the door panel and window sweep was needed.
I suggest pulling the door panel and adding a little lube to the tracks.

There are 2 wires attached to the motor the pulls down the window glass. When a guide in the motor breaks one of the wires has slack in it.
When you lower the window, nothing will happen for .25 inches while its reeling in slack and then jerk it down once it's taunt.
