My wife has a 99 triple black 6 speed with 30,000 miles . The car sat for 3
months without a tender, because of her major surgery. The car was second on my mind. When I thought about her car, of course , her car would not start. Turn the key and nothing. I had purchased a hand held charger
from Ecklers that would start a dead battery. It did. I drove it for about
20 minutes and put it in the garage. Tried to start it again, no start. I put tender a tender on it. The reading on the car , when started was 14.4
down to 9.6 volts, which made me worry. Today it started up reading 14.5,
drove it another 20 minutes and watched the voltage gradually drop to 13.8. Any suggestions? Thanks, Jay
go to costco and buy another low cost battery. you can afford to replace every 2 years there for what it would cost you to buy one higher end one every 6
sitting dead for 3 months and especially if it's more than 3 years old. why risk it? it's also hard on the alt if the battery won't hold a charge

Also a tender is used to maintain the charge. Not so much to charge a dead battery.
Yeah these cars seem to drain the battery quick when sitting. I got a cheap solar panel kit from harborfrieght for like $15. Keeps the battery good if its going to sit for a while and doesn't use my electricity like a tender. http://www.harborfreight.com/15-watt...ger-68692.html
