Default C5 Z06 wheels - question

Hi guys ,

I found a really cheap set of Z06 wheels that I would like to buy.

1 wheel is gun metal painted ( on the back of a spoke it's wtritten SPEEDLINE ) - this is the one I am pretty sure it is OEM. ( photo 1)
The other 3 wheels are with the spokes painted black over chrome finish. On the hub is stamped ITALY - (photo 2 )
Question - are these 3 wheels OEM , or some replicas ?

Appreciate your comments / answers.

Thank you .

I think the Speedlines are made in Italy also. Are they the same weight (or very close)? The aftermarket versions are quite a bit more heavy than original ones.

You have one OEM wheel there my friend. In addition those Speedline wheels are of very high quality and low weight according to my research since 2011. I can't tell what the Italy wheels are but they are not Speedlines. I had a Z06 and love those wheels.

The Speedline wheel is a GM OEM wheel and should also have a GM part number. The other wheels are most likely aftermarket wheels. GM never had a C5 chrome wheel as OEM, much less black paint and chrome.

Some people have said that chrome plating may weaken the wheel; if that's a true statement, I would hesitate using chrome wheels in high performance application such as track days. If you are going to plate/paint the Speedline wheel to match the others, it may be cheaper in the long run to look for a full set of OEM Z06 Speedline wheels, making sure that they are the correct Z06 sizes.

Call Bob at House of Wheels. 561-445-7606 or go to http://www.houseofwheelsonline.com/

He is a reasonable fellow to deal with.

If only one wheel is factory and the rest are replicas that means the weights are different and if you have rear tires for example you could have one wheel that's 4lbs HEAVIER than the opposite.

Not good. Personally I would have never given a thought to purchasing them. I wouldn't take them even if they were free, much less pay for them.
