Default Looking for a cam

I have an 03 Z and would like to put cam, heads and intake and would like some input on what some of you have done cam wise. I really planed on building but just can't spend that kind of cash now. I don't mind it being on the big side but in this case would prefer not having to cut the pistons. I'll run trick flows, a 90 fast and TB and have LG longtubes.
Thx R

You will probably get a number of different recommendations for what cam to run and many will say get a custom cam but a lot of off the shelf cams work well and make good power you just have to determine what will work best in your situation

You mentioned tfs heads so I will throw out my combination, I really did not want to flycut but ended up fly cutting and it wasn't that bad, you could probably go with a g5x1 and 59cc and not have to flycut and still make good power

93 octane
tfs 215 heads 59 cc
g5x2 cam
fast 102
lg streets
493/420 hp/tq

Agree with above. Depends on what you want out of it, you'll have to do some research there. I wanted an aggressive street motor(346 SBE) that didn't quit til 7000 when I let it eat.

It'll forever have some 5mph, parking lot hiccups that require a blip of throttle or a tap of clutch...fair trade to blow the tires off at 90 Cruises at 1700rpm getting 27mpg on the highway like factory.

TFS 220's 62cc
FTI "Streetsweeper" 236/240 .631/.610 111lsa
Ported FAST 92
Kooks 1 7/8" and 3" X
Halltech Venom

I did not flycut. 488rwhp/430tq.

I just pulled this Comp Cam from my 04 Z06. It has less than 5,000 miles on it and I decided to go a bit milder with my next cam. With a FAST 92, headers and Vararam I made roughly 430rwhp with no heads work at all.

Let me know if you are interested and we can work out a deal. I was going to post it for $160 shipped.

With my customized Trickflow 215s, Ported FAST90, EWP, %25UD pulley, my motor made 484/432 SAE with only a 228-232 Crane cam. Nice lope, but it would pull from a stop with no throttle. However, that amount of power will necessitate a good clutch, and other driveline upgrades. Mo' money.

Buddy made 465/420 with:

TFS as cast 215
Fast 90/92
Cam was a 23x/24x(don't remember)
11 to 1
1 3/4 headers

Nothing special, was in a road race 4th gen Camaro.
