ok ive seen all the post about adjusting the springs thats not my issue. i need to adjust the hatch because the back glass was busted out. After it was replaced the hatch wont open it looks like it moved back towards the rear of the car and now is catching on the rear. Do i just pop the plastic cover off on the inside of the car right above your head to adjust the hinges? i just need it moved less than a quater inch?
there is a release wire behind the drivers rear speaker.[/QUOT
The wire just helps open the hatch correct? i need to adjust it so it wont catch at the back of the car.
well I thought you could not open it ??? once open you might see adjustment. I don't understand how the hatch got misaligned by the window breaking ??? my car is covered so I have not looked at it.

im not sure either but after the install of new glass and sitting for 24hrs and a drive down the road it will not pop open, you basically have to pop it and pull it at the same time because its in a bind on the back tail section.. it just needs to be slide back about an 1/8.
Well clearly safelite didnt know what they were doing thanks for the info. i plan on calling them monday to see what i can have done.
North Charleston, SC. They have a dedicated Corvette Glass specialist and will not even make me an appointment with any other tech. The guy really knows his Corvettes right down to special sealants used on a C5 windshield install. I will follow him whereever he goes--like a stalker. He did mine recently and it was perfecto in all respects. They even let me watch by backing it into the shop so I could see all from the shop door.
Dave. I then got a CS call and later one by mail. BEWARE who you let work on your car.

1. I have found that SafeLite stands behind their work i00%.
2. Your insurance company sent you there and should go to bat for you to resolve it with a proper fix.
It was an insurance job. If your hood did not fit perfectly after a front end skirmish, the insurance company would have to send in an adjuster and get it fixed correctly. That's why you pay insurance. DEMAND that it be properly repaired. If they say it is because of damage associated with the glass vanalism, still they need to treat it as a comp claim and fix it right.
DO not try to fix it yourself and insist on perfection.
