No Voltage reading for Vat code

Default No Voltage reading for Vat code
c5 2002,

I only received one key when I bought my Vette, I have bought and programmed new FOBs easily. Now that I am trying to find the vat number so I can buy a duplicate key I cannot get any voltage from the key. Let me first say this, I have no problems at all starting my vette with said key. Only problem with the key is that I cannot get any voltage reading from it. I have taken to my mechanic, my neighbor, and myself and cannot get a any voltage reading it all.

Advise please!

Your not looking for a voltage reading from the key. You are looking for a resistance reading from the key
