Default c5 tire replacement

Hello all,
I recently (6months ago) bought a 2000 c5 corvette convertible with 29,000 miles on. It's time to replace the original tires. Should I replace with the original Goodyear Eagle F1 EMT. or is there a better choice.
Thanks for any help.
Kevin

You are going to get a ton of opinions but the first thing to decide is if you're comfortable without run flats on the car. Two years ago I ditched the run flats in favor of some Hankooks Evo2. Best choice I have made on the car. Much quieter and smoother running. If you decide you want to stay with runflats, look for something different than the Goodyears. I will never go back to them.

If you do a search you will find a lot of discussion on this subject. Welcome to the Forum.

I bought my C5 two weeks ago and have Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Zero Pressure run flat tires on it. They are quiet and handle good.

I am thinking of going with the Firestone Indy 500's, great reviews and $466 + shipping from tirerack.

I am not a fan of the Goodyear runflats. If you want to go with runflats, I would recommend the Michelin tires. For non-runflats, I am using a set of Hankook Ventus EVOs on my car and have been very pleased with the performance, ride and the price.

I ditched the loud and uncomfortable run flats and I'm glad I did.

I'm now running General as-03 tires and am very pleased with them.

I keep a 12v pump and tire repair kit in the car at all times.

Default Decisions and opinions...

First make a decision on the run-flats or non-run flats. Suggest you communicate with other Forum members and get their opinions.

Then, use the Forum vendor TireRack.com and see what is available....

Another fan of the Hankooks here! Have not heard a lot of great things about the run flats.

I'm running a set of Mickey Thompson Street Comps. Very good tire, with good feedback. The price/performance ratio is very good as well.

I installed the Firehawks a few weeks ago after a lot of research. Definitely a different tread design. My son installed a set last week on his C4.

I have the same exact Vert. I run Conti DW's on the Vette, 2007 CTS-V, and just had them put on my 2013 LaCrosse Premium. Got em from TireRack last month for $193 each.

But these are being replaced with DWS06 which is a much harder tire, don't buy them.

Kept trying to talk myself into getting the Michelin Pilot Sports like it has now and they are older than OLD! I think they are dated '02 but the C5 people that have put these on (the new style 500's) seem to like them and the feedback on TR is very good so pulled the trigger last night and will get them on either Friday or Saturday. The tread design looks like it will belong on this car and hopefully will work better out at the dragstrip than these old dried up Michelin's.
