It's going to really depend upon your goals. Are you looking for a modest gain with good street manors or a radical cam with a large lope etc. Also what other mods are you planning to do or have done. Headers, exhaust, intake, heads, etc. Give the members here some more basics and I am sure you will get a ton of help.

I want a modest lope due to strict VA street laws. Later on I plan to do some more for power but right now I just really love the way a cam sounds so I want just that. It already has open straight back exhaust and sounds good but I want the lope.

Power I'm not going for really because its already had suspension work so it hooks really well, and in the current street scene I'm one of the fastest. Good street manners and a nice lope and exhaust note.. I already have headers, pipe and Borla S Type II. Nothing like the lope of a nice cam upgrade. My 71 shakes real nicely at idle even in stock form. I miss it. If I had a second garage stall, I would bring it down from my daughter's house in Ohio.

What's pertinent to your question would be basics, such as do you have an auto trans, or a manual, and what's your rear gear ratio. Other factors are headers, and other exhaust modifications, as well as whether your engine is already modified in some way. It's not relevant to a cam question if you're fastest in your group, with no other facts. If lope is all you want, and you don't particularly care about performance, just throw in a 224-228 @ 112, and it'll be easy with most combinations, but will need a tune. I assume you know about the supporting mods you should have done when you cam your car?
How far away are you from Tick Performance in NC ? If not to far talk to them about what you are looking for.
Yes I wanted to get a kit from Tick, however they arent doing any new builds so I cant use them for everything. Then when I checked with HP solutions in Newport news to do the work they said they wouldnt use Ticks cam kit, so I held off on buying the kit from them. Even though they had the cam I wanted. I was looking at a Stage 2 TorqueMax cam from Tick. However my friend has a Polluter v2 that sounds pretty good too. So still shopping really
To the others comments
Yes I want power, but thats not my goal, I was trying to explain I just want sound. I have other plans for my power gains
Exhaust is already set up for a cam. Its automatic, gear ratio is 3.15. I have already bought the stall and a converter for the cam. I know what I need....I just was kinda hoping someone on the thread knows a good place to go in VA or might possibly have a cam kit sitting around that they didnt want to use.....
You need a pro. for advice on your cam needs . What I would do is start looking out of your town make some calls find what you need and please do some back ground checking on whom ever to find to do the work make sure they know there stuff whom ever you call will tell you they are the best BULLSh(* check them out make app with them get a room stay a day or two drive back home with camed C-5..
A couple of years ago when rebuilding my LS1 I was looking at Comp Cams' web site and clicked on a link there for help in choosing a cam. Filled out a form and in a day or so got an email from them with a suggestion. After a few more emails back and forth I selected from them a cam basically one size larger than what was originally suggested but in the same lobe grind family. I'm very happy with what I've got.
I paid pat G (well known on the forum - patrick.guerragroup@gmail.com) $25 to spec out a cam for what I wanted and he connected me with his rep at Texas Speed and got a $25 discount for a custom ground cam. Lonnie at TSP will help identify the supporting components for the swap. Obviously whomever does the build needs to be comfortable with you buying the parts - my guy was - he uses TPS so that was not an issue.
