White Interiors in C5's?
I've been a big fan of the blue vettes with white rag tops for years, and like them even better with white interiors to match-- even better with a white stinger hood. I haven't done past generation homework to see what years came in that configuration stock, but I did see that there was no white interior option from the factory for the 5th generation. (Unless I missed it.)
I'd really appreciate if anyone with a custom white interior in a C5 could post some pictures... Please, please, please.
Light gray and shale are light and close, but they aren't white.
I'm considering throwing white seats in as a replacement for my light oak sport seats on my navy blue metallic 01 vert. Really leaning that direction, actually.
Interior Innovations has a nice white set with black trim for $525 that look absolutely great to me. It's easy enough to get a center console cover in white to match, but the other mod's necessary to make it really work are at the heart of my post.
I re-dyed the silver interior in my 75 years ago and it held up really well, but I'm wondering if anyone has dyed or covered the accent color in their C5 cockpit? If so, what did you do, how did you do it, and are they pleased with the results?
I know the light oak interior pieces of the lower dash and the door moldings will have to either be replaced by color matching pieces or dyed to match and the carpet will have to be changed out, but I'm also wondering if there will be any not so obvious changes I'll have to make?
Right now I'm thinking of having the door panels wrapped (maybe in white leather with black stitching to match the seat covers) and putting a light gray, black, or shale replacement carpet set in.
I know this crew has a bunch of talented modders and folks who have already been down this road, so I'm looking for a little advice before diving in.
Many thanks for the time and expertise.

That seems like an "old man" look. But then Corvettes have been called old man cars. So maybe there's something there.
Just not for this old man.

White - NEVER AGAIN!!! Before my Corvette I had a 71 Buick GS (16 years) with pearl white interior. I could never wear jeans in the car as the seats had some magical power that pulled the dye out of the denim. They were the biggest PITA ever to try to keep clean!!

I've no problem with pushing the limits, I know mine does in a subtle way, but as Jeff said blue jeans, especially new ones, have a way of leaving their "mark" on the unsuspecting.
Regarding the above pic, I'm wondering if there was some photoshop magic to create it.

I also love a nice white interior
Most of my cars have been very light colored tan leather, for some reason the tan on the C5 doesn't appeal to me, but a nice white would.
The good news is white and black go well together, so if you get white seats, with black trim, it will be fine if you still have a black dash.
I just bought a white shift **** for my all black interior, id love to get some white/black seat covers to match

I owned a 78 Silver Anniversary with an oyster interior at one time & my 2003 is silver & I had thought about possibly doing my interior 2 tone like the 2003 & 2004 oak & shale but in dark & light oyster.

White works, just depends on the car and how and where you use the white or any color for that matter. I've seen a lot of cars on here with thrown together interiors as I would call them. Different items from different vendors means, in many cases, different grains in material, different colors and stitching. The look, and lines of the interior, need to have a flow and some contrasting appearance items. Sometimes very hard to achieve. Same goes for engine compartments. Just throwing aftermarket items, do dads, stick-on parts, chrome covers, logo this and that, tend to draw the eye to specific parts or areas and not take in the area as a whole. Bottom line, if it's pleasing to your eye, it works!

Wife has a 15 Camary with a cream colored interior and it is beautiful but you sure know when it needs cleaning. My jeans do the same thing to her seats, even my oldest faded ones. Don't know if it would be the same with vinyl though. I have a 95 Impala SS with the grey interior and I don't want another one that color for a long while.

Ordered a set of light oak and black covers and driver's side foam from Interior Innovations on Saturday.
After a couple threads of advice that seemed the way to go -- the company and avoiding white. It would have been a royal pain to spend all the time and money changing out all the light oak to white only to have it smeared with blue jeans shortly after getting her done.
Thanks for all the feedback, guys. I'll put up pics when I have it all in.
