Help trying to replace shifter delete I got it

Hi trying to take out breathless shifter and trying to replace with c6 The shifter seems to be adhered to the lower box with some type of black sealant. Bolts are out but can't budge shifter. Any ideas how to break it free?

The lower box is pretty stout. I would try to break the seal with a utility knife all around the sealer and then try to get a stiff thin blade putty knife under to get started.

Its probably just some good silicone holding it on. A small flathead should make quick work of it.

Once you have the 3 torx bolts out, it should just lift up. There is a hard black rubber piece attached to the shifter's bottom that sticks down in a groove and I bet that's what is holding you up. It is NOT glued into that groove so just yank her up and she should break free. See pics:

You will like the C6 shifter. Good luck with the install. The old one should pop out easily with a little persuasion.
