Has anyone had this issue? I installed LED DRL's with Switchback Bulbs and a common load resistor connected to my flasher in the dash. Initially they worked fine then I began blowing bulbs x4 now. I changed the 3157 sockets, changed the bulbs again and I was good for about 2 hours. Now the one side works as it should and the other side will work with the headlights on, and zero with the DRL position?

What to go next??
Have not had this problem but if you are going with led drl,s I would highly suggest plug and play hyper-flash harness over using resistors and I would use good quality led bulbs. I got ebay bulbs in the begining they stated flickering after about 2 weeks so i went with radio flyers bulbs and they work great.

My bet is the resistor - should be simple to test, just remove it and put up with the hyper flash for a bit. I have used the recommended hyper flash harness from Radio Flyer vendor on this forum for about 20k miles without any issues at all.

I purchased the original bulbs from Radioflyer along with clear lenses, I love the look. One bulb shorted out and completely smoked the inside of the lens. I had to repurchase the package. When I replaced the lens I also replaced both 3157 sockets. I then purchased bulbs from Superbright LED. They haven't "exploded but they did go out after about a month of use?

If you have the hyper-flash harness you do not need resisters. I would remove resisters and check wiring for any shorts.

Another point is that over time, hyper flash resistors also go bad. I was an early LED adaptor on my 2004 C5 and converted to LED corners and aftermarket lenses. Worked great for about 8 years and then noticed hyper flash issues even after changing new bulbs. At the time, many believed the culprit was the OEM hazard switch which requires a full dashboard pull to replace. Instead, I thought I would try installing a new hyper flash harness first and was pleasantly surprised that the problem was fixed.
I know that the switchback bulbs were a pain in the *** to put in. I thought I was going to break the or the wire socket putting them in. Also both my housing had holes in the from the stock light bulbs burning a hole in the I fixed this also. The other parts I used replaced the hyperflash issue with a new relay inside of using the resistors at the bulbs. Someone reported that it smells like something buring using those.
