Winter is over
It hit 65 degrees here in MA and I could not restrain myself. Shoveled that last snow that was blocking my storage shed, removed all the winterizing mouse-scaring doodads, put the top down and went for a ride. Just beat a passing rainstorm as I went back into the shed, but I got in about 25 miles of good driving and the vette is now back on the road. Fortunately my little town doesn't put salt on the roads and the streets were dry so no damage done. I had to wipe a few raindrops off the body when I got home but it was well worth it.
I've mastered the art of driving in light rain with the top down. If you go fast enough, nothing gets in the cabin. The windshield catches all the drops. People do look at you funny, though.

It was 78 & sunny here yesterday. Took the top off and went for an hour drive on the back roads. Very enjoyable afternoon
This morning, it was 30 degrees & snowing !!
i don't think Mother Nature is willing to let winter leave that easily...

It's been really mild here and in the 50s & 60s the past few weeks... until yesterday when it snowed. Next week we climb back into the 50s and maybe 60s. Have been driving the Vette quite a bit this "winter"!

It has average 72 degrees(days) here in Destin this month. I know its Florida but we are in the Northwest section. That is way above average even for here. Sorta worries me how hot this summer is going to be lol

Bought my oil and filter today, figuring I'll be back on the road in a week or two (roads are clear of snow, but still freezing overnight, and roads are pretty gritty). Last year was Feb 18, much less snow fell.

I hope winter is over, but I am not taking bets on it. It's 42* right now and it's supposed to get down to 25* tonight. No snow in the forecast, but March has been known to have some significant snowfall here.

I saw three cars with there tops down today. My area uses salt like there's no tomorrow. If I'm lucky maybe sometime in April I'll be taking my Vert out.

Closing in on March and still no shovelable (new word) snow in MD. The last 2 weeks, I have driven 4 times with the top down in the vert. This coming week it is forecast more in the 50’s and maybe 60’s. More topless driving planned. Just maybe Winter is over.

I wanted to badly this weekend.
Unfortunately, in my area in MA the towns use all the salt. I'm fairly confident that with clouds in the air on a sub-35 degree day the towns DPW workers are raiding supermarket shelves for salt like the grocery store scenes in zombie movies.
I"d like a few good rainfalls before I pull the car out. I have an intense dislike of rust, moreso than pretty much anything else automotive related. I did enjoy the windows down, sunroof open, stereo up weekend in my truck, though.

I've been getting my 2000 coupe out about every other week all winter. I don't know how you guys do it. I would be going through withdrawals not driving the vette.

Salt is the enemy for sure. There have been fewer snowstorms in Boston this year and thus fewer occasions for the DPW to spread that stuff everywhere. Last year at this time on a windy day the air over the highway would be thick with salt. Not this year, thank goodness.
High of 50 forecast for tomorrow. Taking the vert to work.
