Headlight motor removal ?

Default Headlight motor removal ?

Trying to get to the headlight motor on my 04,, got as far as the 2 hinge bolts and the torx heads are both stripped ,, is there another way to get the headlight out of the way ? Thanks

I've always had the same problem that you are having - so I remove the entire frame by removing the bolts on the frame below and the two bolts that hold the assembly on to the wall. Hope this helps.

You could try placing a pair of vice grips around the outside of the bolt head in an attempt to unscrew the hinge bolt. However, I would proceed with caution as these bolts are hard to very hard come by, and expensive to replace.

While a pain, you could try coming up from underneath the headlight. Remove the screws holding the plastic piece in front of the wheel, slide / remove the brake duct out of the way, and you should have access to the motor.

Take the whole bucket out. A bit more work, but easier overall.

Three 13mm attach to the frame, three 10mm attach to the wheel well
Unplug the harness , remove the painted cover and the whole assy will come out. Then you can work on the bench
