Default Bright vs Super Bright LED Accent Lighting

What are your thought on bright vs super bright LEDs for accent lighting (cove, puddle lights, foot wells, etc)? Headlight/tail lights for that matter?

I can't find any comparison photos, just sites that state the latter are 40% brighter, so I'm not sure what the 'real world' different would be.

I bought all my exterior (headlights and tail lights) and interior lights from Radio Flyer. I haven't installed them yet, but I've heard from others the quality of the lights he sells are second to none, so I'm sure I'll be happy.

The stock interior and exterior lights on the C5 suck. Just get all new lights from Radio Flyer...you won't find better quality and George is super knowledgeable and honest.

I have Sylvania zevo leds in my interior and reverse lights. Much brighter than stock and there's no corvette tax.

I bought cheap Fleabay LEDs to start, and they burned out within a few months. Save yourself time and money, and start with RadioFlyer products. You won't be disappointed.

Nice thread ^

Hey Choreo, do you still have the Muth Signal Mirrors installed? Was it worth the effort to do the mod?

Yes, still have them. One of my best mods. I think they have helped me avoid at least a couple close calls with on-ramps.

Slo Yelo C5, hatewhatownsyou & TorchRedLS6 - Thank you very much for the endorsements and warnings!

Choreo - Great looking lights . . . gives me a lot to thing about!

However, I was looking for a comparison of standard Bright LEDs vs Super Bright LEDs. After a bit of digging, I was able to get a few pics to compare the two . . . so with this in mind, I'm leaning to the standard Bright as I'm looking for a more subtle accent look.

Thank you very much again for the comments!

I would recommend buying one or two bulbs to see how you like them, and also remember not all led brands will be equal

I will try to find my comparison pic of my rear interior lights led vs standard.

I've had "cheap Fleabay LEDs" in my car for over a year with no problems. I have also had them in my 87 Buick for over 2 years with no issues. Buy what you want but any LED will be brighter than the stock incandescent bulbs.

Thanks for the clarification. I'll start small and work my way to the rest of the C5 if it looks good.

All led's will work "work" but there will be britness differences. I was going to buy eBay ones also, but started tearing my hair out with the 100 different Chinese 194 bulb options and just ended up going with the name brand.

As one who commutes 2 - 3 hours a day in my vette in stop and go traffic I have to tell you that from my perspective the super bright LED lights in the tail lamps and brake lamps are really annoying.

I understand that if your in a rural or very dark area the extra light is helpful but ... being stuck behind a guy in rush hour traffic at night with super bright brake lights is PIA
