Default C5 headlight noise

My headlights go up fine with no noise or hesitation. They close all the way fine but make the rat tat tat sound upon being fully closed. Is there any way to adjust with the manual **** or does the gear have to be replaced? Also, how urgent is the repair since they go up and down fine. It is just the annoying noise.

You wore out the plastic/composite gear and it needs to be replaced with a brass gear. Go to rodneydickman.com The kit they sell is complete with everything you need and great step by step instructions.

Thanks, I will take a look. I was hoping I could wait a while.

Wort part is waiting for the epoxy to dry.

I did mine at the same time I pulled the OEMs headlights to install HIDs...made the wait time a bit more tolerable, with a bonus of vastly improved night time visibility

You can spin the gear 180 degrees with the **** (several articles on the forum how to do it). It didn't work for me. Look up the write-up by "Patches". His was the easiest with great photos. PM if you have any other questions.

The brass gear upgrade is solid advice, I had this same issue last year and my mechanic swapped in the brass gear...not a single issue since.
