Seat Belt Warning Light

Sounds like the seat belt switch is stuck in the "closed" position. The switch is a part of the connector on the female (latch) part of the seat belt mechanism. When the tongue end of the belt is inserted into the latch the switch is supposed to open the circuit so that the light on the dash goes out. If the switch is stuck closed the light remains illuminated even when the belt is latched. The connector that contains the switch is between the seat and the tunnel at floor level.
