Hey guys,
I'm new to the forum and also a new corvette owner. I recently acquired a 98 C5 Corvette so I'm trying to get to know the car. While inspecting I found a cd Changer in the truck, but I do not know how to use it. I put cd's in it and can hear it cycling them. I just don't know how to operate the Changer from the stereo. Please help!

Based on above will asssume you don't have the owners manual.
To go from radio AM/FM hit the CD aux button on the head unit. One function that I don't recall seeing in the manual is how to cycle from CD1 to CD2, etc. - Hit button #5 to cycle thru the CD's in the rear compartment player.
Good luck with you new C5 and welcome to the forum
Pounder, I'm going to handle that upgrade mod like I did with my Grand Cherokee last March. Swapped out the 2005 Grand Cherokee with a 6 disc cd changer for a 2016 GC Overland, with a thing in the center console that looks like your radio. I'm going to do that mod and surround it with a C7 someday
What kind of head unit do you have? One with a Tape player? If yes then you use the TapeAux button to switch between CD and Tape. You also must load the CD's into the magazine with LABEL DOWN.
If your car came with an owners manual this is all described in section 3 of the manual. If you don't have an owners manual then you can download one here:
I was able to get the cd changer to ready and display from the stereo but the err code keeps coming up. The cd's are brand new and in upside down per the manual. Do you know what can cause this?

The cd changer could be toast. Try this, remove all the cd from the individual trays. Only install one cd disc (something commercially recorded) in slot 1 and insert the remaining 11 trays into the blank slots. Try playing the cd. If it err's flip the cd over just to make sure your putting them in properly. Test it again. If it error's the player could have several things wrong with it such as a dirty laser. Search this forum "cd changer problem" there are quite a few diagnostic threads to go through.
