[Z06] PCV Oil Catch Can ?

PCV Oil Catch Can ?
I just purchased a 2004 Z06 and through many helpful articles on this site learning more about the car, I read this is one of the first mods I should perform. My question is...since they eliminated the external PCV in 2004, was this still an issue with oil contaminating the intake system? Hopefully the engineers corrected this problem in 2004 and the catch can isn't needed, for me.

The 04 ls1/6 doesn't have an external pcv valve like 01-03, they have an internal oil baffle. I installed a CCA catch can on my 03 and you still use the pcv valve. Pretty sure catch cans are a mod still done on 04 and newer vettes. I just put one on mine after driving it for 4 years without one, so I wouldn't say it's a must have mod. It's definitely a good idea if you do a lot of performance driving with the car.

I had an Elite Engineering catch can on my 2004 Z06, and it was definitely functional. I emptied it at oil changes and after track days. As long as you use a sealed system, there is no downside I'm aware of.
