Need help from C5 gurus
When I first bought my 1998 coupe automatic, wanted to service it. After I got it up on stands and was going to check trans fluid. I remember having to remove a skid plate from rear to get to side of transmission. Not the torque tube skid plate mounted to body of car, there was also a skid plate mounted to rear suspension to protect trans and rear diff. Had some work done on car, and when under car afterwards noticed it was gone. Asked the guy about it and he said the only skid plate was torque tube skid plate. Did I dream the skid plate was there or did it come on some as an option?
Thanks

IIRC, there is not a skid plate on my car in that area.

There are no skid plates on a C5, there is no torque tube skid plate... there is a torque tube cover plate but below that there are two exhaust pipes. there is no skid plate on the trans or differential. there are two aluminum bladder covers for the fuel tanks, but they are not skid plates. there are two heat insulators above the mufflers, but they are not skid plates.
