Exhaust Plate LED

I am anxiously awaiting my Double Din package from DD Mods. While I have the car apart to install the reverse camera I would like to drop a LED down to light up the exhaust plate. What LED are you guys using for that? Seems there are so many styles and prices. I just want to make sure whatever I put down there lasts...

I just bought a red 5" LED strip off ebay. It was about $7.00. It has held up well so far, but then again the car has been stored most of the winter.

If it goes out, Ill buy a more expensive one. Not concerned with the "labor" as it took me all of 10 minutes (if that.)

I bought a 5pack on ebay. They had an adhesive backing. Only took a few minutes to install.

What wires did you tap into to provide power to the LEDs?

I tapped into the license plate light. Very simple install. Dont remember the wire colors (+) and (-) off the top of my head.

Mines is a double strip from Advance Auto Parts. Tapped into one of the taillights.

That's what I did to mine - very quick install. I got my LED light from Oznium.

Thanks guys...I guess I will just pick one up at Advanced. I want to tap into a license plate light for it when I have it apart to install my back up camera....

I added mine many years ago using a wedge-shaped 3LED light in red to match my AE and the plate.

I tapped into the license plate light with little issue. Looks cool and cost nearly nothing.
