The ABSFixer.com websites instructions are weak. I've got the white clip off and have pulled the gray handle up. Now it says to do this: pull back on the wire harness. At this point, you will be able to see the second wire connection that is removed by pulling down. I can't see anything and have no clue what they are talking about. Help!
See the big plug and the smaller plug right under it.(to the right of it in this picture) Seems there was a clip on it that you pry up. This is the '01 and newer style EBCM
Put blankets or something across both front fenders. Disconnect Neg battery connection. Disconnect air intake and move it out of the way. Clip cable tie on connector if its still there.
Release plug retainer if its still there. Unplug upper connection. Unplug lower connection. Remove 6 torx screws holding ECBM to pump . EBCM may seem stuck to pump unit.. There is a rubber gasket between. If it does not immediately separate, gently tap with flat blade screw driver ore something until it loosens. Then slip it right off.

Do not clip the white "cable tie" on connector. That is a lock for the large connector and slides in and out to lock the plug. Just pull it out and unlatch the connector.
I had my entire unit out, the EBCM still attached to the BPMV ... I was a numbnut and didn't understand that I only needed to remove the EBCM out by itself ... and even out on the bench that sucker took a bit of an effort to split apart, quite frankly, even knowing how it all works now, I tip my hat to those that could get them 6 torx screws out and get the EBCM lose and out
don't give up my friend!

These guys nailed it. The first wiring harness requires you pull upp on that black clicking connector. I was overlooking that. Once it's off you can easily see the bottom wiring harness connector and get it off. Those torx screws are trouble. Soooo many things in the way. My fatherinlaw loaned me a bendable extension to get the last one off so going back on should be easier. I had to use a very fine tip standard screwdriver and a rubber mallet to get the EBCM to pry off of the ABS. That rubber gasket does want to stick and my car only has 16k miles on it.

I can't remember where the white connector goes back in. Can you help me?

It's been awhile since I did it. Seems like there was a slot it slides into that locks the big plug latch so it doesn't open up. Can't remember exactly what it looked like..
It might be the white connector goes through the plug and that black part.
Yeah that was it. I found it eventually. This was a great fix. $200 plus shipping and no more service warnings. Back in action and didn't have to pay the dealer the $1450 they quoted me!

I remember the great feeling I had when I first fired mine up and there were no warning lights and bells.
