Default Finding part numbers for particular bolts

Hi guys. What's the best way to find part numbers that don't appear to be readily noted on the internet? I need new bolts to replace the ones that hold my shifter box to the torque tube. The previous owner used a too-small torx and ruined the internal lobes on the bolts...But I can't find the part number for them. Not even in my factory service manual. Any ideas? I could probably find a similar bolt at the hardware store but would prefer to replace them with the same style of bolt if it's easy enough.
