wondering if 10k is a good price for a 97 vette with 125000 miles? the car is in really good shape and drives sounds good too. Its too old for the NADA to put a value to it but i have looked up on line and they say its value is about 7k.

Maintenance records, accident history, tire condition, m6 or auto, exterior and interior condition, even color, both in and out? All those things determine true value. In my opinion all those factors weigh in on a price. Pics and the above info posted back here will help members try to help and guide you. Good luck!
One of the things people over look when buying a C5 is one of the most important as far as safety and cost - tires. Don't just go by the tread, look at date code. Over 6 years old, no good. And new tires aren't cheap, I've used old worn tires as a strong negotiating point.

You have to shop and compare car for car, so easy to do online. With cash in hand for a deposit, negotiate. Try to pick the car apart and hit him at the 7k you saw online as long as it's comparable. You need to know the history, how many owners etc. Motivation for selling is important.
Friou back, I just plain forgot, sorry 'bout that! Make sure the car is given a thorough one end to the other tech check by a shop/tech that knows C5's well. Also be sure the shop/tech is independent of the seller. If it cost some bucks to get it done, its money well spent. Good luck!
