Default 04 Z hard shifting

I sure this is an old topic but new to me . My 04 Z with 80,000 miles 525 RWHP under hard acceleration is hard to shift and sometimes will not come out of gear unless you let off the gas.. If someone could or would point me in the right direction .New Callaway shifter.. .. Thanks..

My guess is your slave is shot and even though you are pressing in the clutch it is not completely disengaging the clutch. Do you have a Tick master? If not I would get one...

My car's shifter was constantly in need of adjusting which would cure that problem for a month or two.

If anything in your drivetrain is loose allowing things to shift might cause hard shifting under hard acceleration. My car was missing the nuts holding the motor mounts to the front crossmember!

Not a new Tick master but a new GM one that was told was a new one would fix the problems the old one had, it was sticking to the floor but after the new master stooped that and works way better . I was shifting at 155 MPH in 4th trying to go into 5th the shift light came on and could not get it out of 4th let off and it went into 5th ,I was shifting at 6500 . I don't know how old any of the clutch stuff is ,properly all needs to be replaced ..What a job.. Driving like I got some scene it all works great ,I guess I could slow down ..NOT .. Going to adjust but thinking just old clutch and slave ???

I haven't seen any missing nuts bolts but will recheck ,nothing for me it ever that easy just replace a bolt or two.. It's never been adjusted in the 3 years I have it so will try that .. When its cold has a little stick going into 2ent from first after it warms up no problem ..??

Have you replaced the clutch fluid in the master cylinder lately? (Ranger Method). If not I would try that a few times and see if it helps. And slow it down a bit if you're on the street at those speeds, lol.

Yes I take care of my 04 all fluids get changed often and the clutch fluid looks like water clear and no way would be going that fast on the street . Going to try to adjust it might help. I have to do a little more research ,I read somewhere might be in the trans . The clutch and slave might be original (80,000 ) have just had the 04 for 3 years might be ready for a new clutch and slave and the old saying wile your at it might as well replace all under the thing and guess get repainted also LOL. I do my own work not looking forward to it .. I would hate to do all that work and have the same happen so going to try to find out all I can on the deal. Don't need do overs way too much work and money. I have heard of this happening to others so its just my 04 it sounds like a on going deal with some C-5s.. Thanks
