What is the trouble? I replaced the nylon washers hoping that was the fix. Ended up being the broken piece that holds the track to the seat on the back

My seats been rocking since I got it 10 plus years. Getting new interior, and it's on the way, thought I would repair that now. Also my driver seat stopped going up and down, it tries do but with difficulty, it's like binding. The parts give up with weight and all. I need another part for that fix.

Here's what I followed to fix mine.

No kit, just a trip to the local Ace Hardware.

Just to be sure, which one of these 2 problems are you experiencing? Or is it both?

Sliding seat:

Rocking seat:

Besides the problem with the shims, there is also the possibility of 1 or 2 flanges at the rear of the seat track being bent or broken.

This video explains in a very detailed way the replacement process of both, shims and flanges. It might give you the answer you're looking for

Thank you all for the great feed back and great info. And yes GCG I have both problems, I have to order the flanges, I thought I saw them on Ecklers web site. I'm very appreciative, gotta get a torx set. My seats and foam should arrive middle of April. I will let you know how I made out. OH oh oh, what number screw is used on the plastic trim that holds the power seat buttons? I know it's one and half to two inches in length. THANKS A BUNCH!

Yes, I think the rear flange gets crushed during time. Dis you repair it yourself, how difficult was it? Sorry you had to remove them seats or seat twice. I fixed my head light, I don't hink with time I can do this and install the new foam and leather. Thank you johnandsarah002

Worked like a charm. I let a trim shop do the fix with these directions.

I know this solution will not work for families with multiple drivers, but I have not seen this posted before so...

I am the only driver of my 'Vette. Ten years ago, when I first got the car, the driver's seat was moving front-to-back about a quarter of an inch. I just moved the seat all the way back (I'm 6' tall) and the problem was solved (at least for me). Hasn't moved a bit in 10 years.

I bought it ten and half years ago also, I set the sear and left foot was my anchor. My Corvette is automatic. Good news though I repaired the passenger seat tracks. Not bad at all thanks to the Lieblweb write up.

Default Anyone in Dallas Willing to Do this Project For Me?

I pulled my seats years ago to install a Ken King interior and I really don't feel like doing it again to fix my rocking seats. Is there anyone in DFW that is good at this and wouldn't mind taking on the project? I'd pay in $$, or whatever currency (Food, Beer?).

Thanks! Haven't been on here in a while, but still have my TigerShark!

Just curious, when you say a trim shop, is that an interior specialist? My auto vocabulary has diminished over the years. Sounds like that would be a good way for me to go!

Thanks,

Steve

Default Done seat fix

Repair the infamous rocking seat, I also had a broken flange on driver seat along side the console rear. I'm proud of myself, and installed new foam and skins. The key is, not to be in a hurry. Thrilled with this Mod, onto another Mod, rotors? Thank you all who had in put
Happy to answer any questions.

I may be able to lend you a hand. I replaced the shims in my seat about 6 months ago and it wasn't too bad.
