Uneven Rear Tire Wear
I had all my tires off in order to replace my brakes and noticed the rear tires were down to the wear bars in the center, but still had good tread down the sides. I believe this is caused by having an overinflated tire?
Front and rear tires are inflated to 30 PSI cold, and the front tires are wearing evenly. These tires, along with new C6 Z06 shocks / swaybars, and an alignment were all done at the same time about a year ago. My '97 is stock power wise, using stock tire sizes, and I don't track or auto cross this car.
Is this normal wear? Should I lower the tire pressure? I just ordered a new set of rear tires, and would like to avoid this if possible.
Thanks!

12 K seems low, I would say 20 is more normal. Ran those on my C4 with about 20 k tread life. Have not used them on the C5. Was looking into the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500. Same ratings as the BFG, but less $$$.

"Center tread wear" seems to be a common issue with C-5s, and air pressure seems to be the key to minimizing it.....assuming, of course, the alignment is correct.
I run 30 PSI in my front tires, and 29 PSI in the rear.
