50MPH - Stays in Overdrive

Hey Guys,

I have an 02 Convertible, Auto w/ 52k miles. At any speed, I punch it and the car takes off like an animal...but I notice, that if Im at around 48 to 52 MPH, when I want some extra giddy-up, the tranny seems to "stay" in Overdrive and doesnt drop into a lower gear to take off...only if I really punch it, it then takes off...

Is this something I should worry about or is this normal?

Mine doesn't downshift unless I really get on it.

If you want to get out of overdrive without really punching it, just move the shift lever to 3 instead of D.

I also dislike the stock "tune" on the A4. Around town, it shifts into OD way too soon.
