Are zo6 Titanium catbacks with 62,000 miles on them pretty well used on the inside? Any negatives about a set with this much mileage? I read that someone said they are good for 200K...so on a scale of 0-10, how would you rate a set with 62k miles if they look ok on the outside? How much would you pay?
Thanks
Unless you scope it, that's kind of hard to answer, however I will tell you my own experience. I got my stock Z06 with 30k on the clock, and I drove it everyday until I finally had an opportunity to get some GHL Bullets, and by then my stock Ti's had 115k miles on them. Aside from not being as shiny or unblemished like new, I couldn't find a single issue, and I would have zero issues installing a set that are like mine.
IDK for sure but suspect that the Corvette team engineered/spec'd the Ti system for 200K plus miles. At 62K I'd say they are good to go. If the tips are good and the muffs and pipes aren't dented or stained go for them. I have that system on my '03 and like it, but be aware that while the tone is nice it is not super loud. In fact compared to others out there, Borla stingers, B&B, etc it (the Ti) is rather quiet. As to price compare what you would pay for another top tier system, the Ti at almost any price is a bargain.
If and I don't know but if Titanium on the inside will last forever .. They make rockets to the moon with the stuff.. and the turbines in jet engines are the same so unless you got jet motor in your C-5 I thing ok for a long time ..
I have 260,000 miles on my Z06 and the mufflers are still "quiet.". My exhaust is stock and original minus the cats that died last year. The tips don't shine up like new chrome but I have no complaints. The exhaust sounds pretty decent at WOT.
Arvin, manufacturer of the titanium exhaust, released the following upon introduction of the C5 exhaust system: http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/...06exhaust.html (Hopefully this link works. If not it can be searched easily enough, I would guess.)

Yello, keep looking around.prices go from $225 -600. Trouble free installation and maintenance. The tips CAN be polished, but it takes some time and the right polishing tolls/machines
Only issue I have ever heard with them is they tend to get a little louder with age as some of the internal baffling material wears down. Not that this is a bad thing for most of us, lol. Other than that as mentioned titanium is going to last a looong time.
I put a used TI catback on my '03 and love 'em. I wasn't looking for ear blasting noise, just a nice note under power but reasonable when at speed. These fit the bill perfectly. People know I'm there when I hit it but I can also be reasonable so I don't wake people up when it starts and also can be stealthy when passing officers.
Best way I can describe the sound is more "European" vs loud blap.
Edit: p.s.: I paid about 500 for the catback system and it was in great shape.

Thanks Chasboy...again, helpful to my original question...I have about 5 choices so far and 2 are willing to deliver right to my front door

I don't like the sound of most European exotics or the "blap". As you said, when people ask me to rev the engine, at low rpms the ti's are respectful. So I bring the Revs up to about 3500 and then rev it, which gives it the sound I want under power, and some popping when it backs down. The actual weight specs vs base is amazing.

Yeah, the tone is rather difficult to explain. It's more one of those "ya kinda have to be there" sort of things. Mild, but not under the right parameters.
