Nope. '98 had a cassette in dash. Maybe a CD player was optional, as was the CD changer.

Yeah, but the '98 base price was a hair under $40k - $39k and change, IIRC, so a few hundred for the 12 CD system was not at all out of line. What frosted me at the time (8/97) was that the 6 speed was an extra cost option. Sports cars = manual trannies; auto should have been the extra cost item as a fitting punishment for anyone wanting one.
