I would look at a C6 GS, a C7 Stingray or a C7 GS first. However, I do agree that the Challengers, when properly equipped, are really fine looking cars. And I like the CTS-Vs and I know it is heresy here but the Mustang also. Lots to choose from out there.

I like Mustangs too. The 2005-2009 version more than the current gen. Before inheriting my dad's Corvette my intent was to buy a convertible S197 Mustang. Or a CTS V. There was a 2006 LS3 swapped first gen CTS V for $14.5k with practically no miles on the motor and new differential that I'm kicking myself for not jumping on.

I actually considered trading my SWZ in for a '13 Audi S4, even a Lexus IS350. So if I were to sell the Z, those two would be back on deck for consideration, along with a Lexus ISF, an E90 M3, hell maybe a Chevy SS (but with Holden badge swap), definitely the C6 GS also. Whichever I decided on would absolutely be in white though, that's really the only thing I know 100% haha otherwise I would need to really sit down and figure out which of those is for me.

Same position. Highly modified Z, and multiple spinal problems make it uncomfortable to ingress/egress, and find a driving position that works. The ride is somewhat punishing as well. I own a BMW for my DD (X135i) and I just may mod it to about 425HP, do coilovers, and call it my toy. Good thing I like wagons.

It's always what you don't see coming that gets you. Of all the factors that I considered coming down the road (financial issues, health issues, gas shortages, even the Corvette itself being discontinued), I never really considered that there would be no roads to drive on - especially with these insane local property taxes!
Most of these streets are just like driving down railroad tracks - I have to laugh at forum threads that talk about what kind of tires and suspension mods to upgrade to (forget "lowering") - what is the point when you are down to dirt and gravel! I actually could not get out of my driveway a couple weeks ago due to a sinkhole in the alley until the city came out and patched it!
It does not appear to affect new vehicle sales, but looks like everyone now buys pickup trucks and SUVs - maybe because some of them have no choice now. You would have to be a masochist to buy a sports car today.

thank God>
Yes I forgot to mention that , I'm not really into german cars, only because of their bad reputation for reliability and maintenance.
When I see bmw 750's selling for $5-$6k then I know something is very wrong.
I would love to own an S65 amg one day, but you cant own one of those cars without taking heavy losses, either on depreciation or cost to own.

Track down a twin turbo LT5 powered ZR-1 Corvette
Look for one of these though it is probably not your style. While the C4 generation isn't as accepted in the Corvette community as the C5,6 & 7 it
is a unique design with the clam shell hood. It is still a good value for performance when you consider the durability of dual overhead cam design. It is still the 24 hour record holder for a production car
even though VW has beat it a couple times... VW has yet to produce the car they used to beat the record.

Safety Car
If I sold it I'd either take the money and install a modern engine/drivetrain in my Impala or pocket the money.
I've thought about it...can't really enjoy the car much here. So it's limited to road trips or impromptu day trips out of state. Which doesn't happen often.

I really miss the loud engine, the manual 6 speed and the rawness of it all
I am strongly considering to sell my 460 and downgrade again to the 430 which would be my work vehicle, and then get back into a sports/muscle car of some kind as the toy
I wouldn't bother with the is350 even though its a nice car and makes reasonably good power, id just right up to the early model isf's which can be had for like 20-25k and are like 450hp stock
Thanks for all the replies so far guys

Here is something you don't see everyday... immaculate condition.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1990-Chevrol...9Yy1uS&vxp=mtr
Here is a real beast of a Corvette... 440+ hp at the wheels... when will you ever see an engine that nice" $3500 worth of custom polishing. The first owner probably had 90k tied up in this... milage is still under 30K

If I wanted something old, 1936 3-window coupe. I'd like to buy this local car someday.
Something exotic it would be Gallardo...
Something American (and cheaper priced) it would be a Gen2 Viper GTS only 01-02 with abs brakes and no stripes -no other Viper wanted.
