I am very close to buying an 04 Convertible. Car is a one owner with 50K on it. The only thing holding me back is that it is black on black. I live in southwest Florida and not sure how hard it will be to sell in that color. Any thoughts?
Black is not a color, it's lifestyle choice. It's most beautiful when clean, but it is most difficult to keep it that way. It also draws heat while sitting in the sun. If that doesn't bother you I say jump on it. The C5's have a proven reliability record, and if it's been well cared for it will make you fine choice. Black has always been a best seller on Corvettes, so I wouldn't worry about resale.
BTW, my neighbor has a triple black '04 vert, and it is one beautiful Vette.

I wouldn't worry about resale, condition is everything , and people looking for a specific color probably aren't looking for black. Added bonus, what few interior trim pieces are still available at the dealer are black, as far as I can tell.
I have an all black convertible in SoCal and the interior color is ok, considering black is a tough exterior color to tie into the interior color, the contrast can be jarring to the eye, giving the cop car effect .

If you do not like 3Xblack, do not buy it. I bought my 3X Vert with clear understanding that it would be harder to keep clean and hotter with the top down. BUT, when it is detailed correctly, nothing matches the shine. I would buy again without any hesitation.

I personally would not buy a black car, period. But I wouldn't worry about the resale - black is a popular color so someone out there would buy it again if you decide to sell. And as mentioned, condition is an important thing when selling.
I too wouldn't do it, I stayed away from dark colors for that reason. But they look awesome for the first 15 minutes after being detailed. Best of luck in your decision making
Nothing like a triple black car, I went from a Lincoln Roadster to a 1999 convertible, a thing of beauty and if you love the car, detailing is not work, gets you time away from the wife
As far as the selling, black is in high demand and will never be a problem as long as it is not a dog.
Love black on black and uh, black wheels for that matter. It's up to what you like though. Resale is fine, but I wouldn't be concerned anyway; buy what you like.
I swore I'd never have a black vehicle again, until I found this last summer...
while I still thinks it s PIA to keep clean, I do live it! The interior isn't that bad regarding heat, but then again, I'm in MA and not FL so not nearly as hot here.
I've been changing a few things here and there on it. Here it is now with some minor cosmetic changes (some you can't see) and some mechanical changes too.
I didn't want to rule any color out. My only criteria was a convertible. I was willing to give each one a look, and make a decision after seeing it in person.
