first off, move this to the C5 section, you'll get more help. Contact a moderator to move it.
There are many protectants for convertibles. I use 303.http://www.autogeek.net/303fabcontop.html
and:
Don't put your top down when the top is wet
Don't put your top down when it's especially dirty (all that dirt acts like sandpaper to the fabric)

I've tried a few and found meguiars Top cleaner. Didn't know they made a vert top cleaner.
Anyhow, It was very soapy A LOT more soapy then any other cleaner I've used. Works awesome and runs about $6 at the WalMArt

RAGGTOPP products. Pricey but has kept my 2001 Trans Am 'vert in excellent shape for 16 years now. It's a taupe (tan) colored top too which normally would show it's age by now. It doesn't. I use RAGGTOPP on my '07 Mustang 'vert too which is black. 10 years later it is still 'like new'. This what the can looks like for the protectant.

All great products mentioned. In addition to keeping the top clean, in the 4 verts I owned, I avoid garaging/storing the car with the top down. When having the car parked outside for any length of time as I have to now, I have a cover to protect the top.
