Default Finally!

I joined this forum 9 years ago with every intention of buying a brand new corvette within a few years.

What can I say, I was a silly naive kid. Also, life got in the way.

BUT NOW the time has finally come. Picked up a cherry 1999 black coupe Z51 six speed. 40,000 miles and it is so sweet.

So yeah, its not brand new, but its a vette. C5 was the car that got me into cars and now I have one.

Glad to be here and look forward to being a part of the community.

Congrats and welcome to the forum!

I joined about 6 years before I bought mine. Gave me plenty of time to read and sort opinions from facts!

Congratulations on finally being rewarded after your long wait! You will love your C5, wonderful cars! You will be able to get any needed or wanted information concerning your vette from the ever helpful members on this forum. They are a terrific resource and always willing to help new owners. Lots of levity and some good natured sniping mixed in. Members get a little hostile with each other once in a while but its not the norm. So, enjoy that new to you '99 and be safe. By the way, nice photo of you and family. Take good care!

Your son should fit in the hatch with room to spare.
Congrats and welcome to the insanity!

Sweet!!!! Looks a lot like mine. But get ready to constantly be cleaning it. The black looks awesome...............for about 10-15 minutes after you wash it. After that every single bit of dust etc begins to show!

Don't wash it all the time. Get a Calif duster and Meguiar's Quick Detailer spray. Those two items will enable you to make it shine again in about 10 minutes without washing it. Of course having a good coat of wax helps with the task.

Enjoy the ride and the new life style.

Thanks everyone for all the wonderful compliments! I'm a tech so yeah I already want to mod it But for now, its so much faster than that mustang in the picture (which IS heavily modded) I'm just going to enjoy it with the nice sounding axle back thats on there for a little while - but not too long

You are definitely right Ducati Guy - its dirty all the time, thanks for the tip! Was wondering how to keep it looking nice without washing it EVERY day

Beautiful car and great quote! Love the C5!!!

Congratulations! And normally I would say, "Welcome to the forum", but you've been here a helluva lot longer than I have, so I'll just say welcome to the world of Corvette ownership!
