C6 Mirror Problem
The drivers side mirror will not adjust using the door switch, the glass is also not in a firm position on the outside, it can be easily moved and while driving it will move from the position is it manually set at. Do I need a complete new mirror or can this one be repaired? any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like the geared mechanism inside the mirror has gone bad. There is plastic gearing inside there, similar to what the headlight motors use... It tends to hold up much better though, but things do happen and parts fail. Unfortunately, you are probably in the market for a complete mirror. In most cases those parts aren't serviceable alone. Typically just the glass on a GM car is available ala carte.

I should add that there is a possibility the glass has become unattached. They typically snap in place, and sometimes use double sided foam tape as well. If that's the case you should be able to, by hand, pull it away from the housing a significant amount and possibly completely.

Do you have a C6 (as indicated in the title) or a C5? If a C6, you posted in the wrong section. Just post up what year you have and we'll go from there as to where this thread should be.
