Hello everyone. Can somebody please explain what's going on with my '97? It's stock, and within the engine OCI. Thanks for any input guys. It doesn't smell like motor oil. It smells like a mix of motor oil and a foul smell!

Just as dew settles on the outside of a car, dew also condenses inside of an engine. All brands of oil have an emulsifier in them to keep this water from settling to the bottom of the oil pan. When the oil has been subject to a lot of moisture (as in the case of what has been thrown up inside of the valve cover), it develop a slug like material.
In small amounts it is to be expected. The problem is worse for cars that are driven short distances and not allowed to come up to operating temperature long enough to dry the oil out (evaporate the water from the oil).
In extreme cases it can mean a bad head gasket, and or cracked block (or head).
Unless there are other symptoms (loss of coolant, performance, or oil) not to worry. Just make sure the car is driven once in a while long enough to get the oil up to operating temperature for a while.
Wipe it out/Clean it and see if it accumulates again quickly?
If it accumulates fast maybe it's more likely a coolant leak and justifies further investigation??
