the caveats with swapping C6 brakes onto a C5 are: base is direct swap; Z51 needs brackets, rotors, and lines (but reuses calipers/pads); Z06 needs calipers, rotors, lines, and pads (deletes brackets); ZR1 needs knuckles, calipers, rotors, lines, and pads (also deletes brackets). all upsizes with factory C6 parts need larger front wheels.

not necessarily all exactly the same... but they're all interchangeable (to include C6 stuff. not sure on C7).

All oem C5 calipers are the same, other than the red finish on the Z06 units. Base C6 calipers have the same external dimensions as the C5 units but the base C6 units have less bridging, which creates a caliper body approximately 30-40% more rigid. They don't have any fins on them, either.

Not trying to stir anything, but I thought I knew my C5 brake systems pretty well; now I'm not so certain.
Have a good one,
Mike

Drove mine home from daughter’s house about 325 miles yesterday in typical south Fl weather, sun, rain, lightning storms and rush hour traffic. I really enjoy this car, it’s comfortable, good looking, reliable and fast but god damn if it doesn’t just suck getting out of now that I’m almost 68 years old.

I swing my legs around so both feet are on the ground. Then place the palm of my left hand on the door sill. That push from the door sill gives me enough height to engage my glutes.

Am I missing something? What's the reference to C6 hardware adapting to a C5 as related to answering the original question? Or is zebra just providing extra info and I have tunnel vision?

To be more specific, yes, 99 C5 brakes fit an 04 C5 perfectly. They are the same. Even C5 Z06 brakes (although there wasn't a Z06 in 99) fit as the only difference is the color red.

Thanks guys! I am acquiring an extra set to send out for rebuild and powder coating, then swap at my convenience. They’re from an older C5, so just checking on the fit. 👍

Oh snap I might make my first "appearance mod" soon. I found out one of my rear side markers somehow broke a stud off and is "loose".
Instead of replacing it with a stock one, might as well spice it up and get a smoked LED one:

Surprised these weren't $100+....if they were, my **** be staying broke.
I have smoked front covers so may suit the car well.
I'd entertain the front LED markers too, but it seems they changed the design/function of the DRL and you lose that C5 look seeing the DRL on the front.

New LED do this:
You lose the big amber bulb as DRL.

I installed those on my car right after its purchase, Smitty, and while I was at it, went with their LED tail lights, too.

Pain in the *** cleaning these rims! Didn't even turn out that great. Mini detailed. Tried to change the oil and I COULD NOT get the drain plug loose. Last time it was out was when I had the supercharger and clutch done. Maybe they used an impact.
Played with the race ramps.
Straighted the exhaust the best I could.
