The wave breakdown as I see it. If I'm in my C5 other C5's wave back, C6's sometimes, C7's never wave back. If I'm in my C3 all other Vettes wave back. If I'm in my C4 only C4 Vettes wave back. On my Harley, other Harley's about 80% wave back. Goldwings only wave at other Goldwings. If I'm on my Aprillia Tuono seems all other bike wave back, including Harley's. I get nothing from other Camaro's when I'm in my ZL1. Life is weird.

Back in the early to mid 90's, there was a wave craze amongst Saturn owners. It lasted for a few years and like the Saturn....was gone! I always wave to fellow Vette owners!

I've noticed that geography plays into the wave returns ratio a bit.
When I am in Arizona where Corvettes are reasonably common, but there is enthusiasm, I get return waves 80% of the time no matter what generation of corvette I wave at. Not as much when it's a younger driver.
When I'm in Utah where they are reasonably rare, I can wave at a school bus or mini van or even mustang and I will get a wave back. If it's another corvette almost always get the return wave. When I come out of a restaurant or grocery store in Utah it's not uncommon to see someone checking it out or even taking a picture. Gets far more attention in Utah.
When I'm in California I'm as likely to get the bird as a return wave.

While heading to work this morning I saw a C6 approaching from the opposite direction. Was pretty far off so I had plenty of time to prep for a wave. As the distance closed I gave him my best wave. Waited for the response. None..nada.....zip........zilch.
It was then that I realized I was in my Subaru Imprezza Outback. Ooops.
