Borla does not have a handle on drone.. their aggressive design does not allow the harmonics to stay under the drone frequencies... they have been working on this for years.
Corsa has always had the handle on drone.. I worked with Corsa engineers when the pace car system was developed.. there were three manufacturers in the run to get the GM contract to build that system. Dave wanted no drone at any rpm range. Of the three manufacturers, Corsa was given the contract.. The original Indy Pace car system from Corsa has an official GM Part number.

In my experience this isn't the case. My Borla stingers don't drone out and in 6th gear I've got more road noise from the tires than from the exhaust. My stingers are actually quiet at 70-80 on the highway

I'm also running Borla S-Types and that's my experience too, there's only really noticeable droning if I'm driving uphill in low gear. I'm also going to plug Borla a little, because for example they manufacture the LG Motorsports line of headers, they're not exactly amateur. The company has a very good handle on what they do, and generally speaking their systems are droney in automatic corvettes, but most people with manuals like the Borla exhausts quite a bit.
My 2001 has a K&N Intake and Borla S-Type cat-back currently and everyone agrees it's a pretty amazing sounding car (Extremely loud at open throttle, very rumbly and growly at low RPM). Watch some vids, sit in some cars if you do the corvette club thing. If you absolutely hate drone, you probably will take a Corsa system, but if you drive a manual, don't believe the hate about Borla, check things out yourself. I greatly prefer the growlier, more muscley sound Borla systems have, compared to the more European sounding Corsa systems.
I have the Borla type S w/X pipe on the C6Z and it does drone, but not so much in 6th on the highway, but for me the vettes are all about fast & badass loud so I love it every time I drive it and I wouldn't have it any different, but the trade off for badass vette is the drone.
I have the Magnaflow w/X pipe on the C5 with no drone at all, but it doesn't have the aggressive badass sound of the C6Z, therefore I wish I had gotten the Borla on it too. For me, there's nothing like the mean muscle car rumble of the LS engine with an aggressive exhaust on it, no matter what brand, especially with a manual.
OK you guys with conditional drone... you are way off base... whether the car is an automatic, or you are going up a hill.. that means absolutely nothing... the sound comes from engine harmonics... it is frequency based... sound based not condition based... the exhaust system only hears the harmonics of the engine, the engine produces the same frequencies at any rpm level.. if the engine frequency gets above ( its actually below in megahertz ) when cruising as a sustained speed in the 1500 ro 1800 range, whether you have an automatic or you are in 5th gear... as long as the motor is cruising in a sustained rpm range, it produces the same frequencies response. 1500 rpm in 5th gear sound exactly like 1500 rpm is 6th gear. The motor does not discriminate how it gets to that rpm range.. 1500 rpm is 1500 rpm... these are fact... those with Bolas systems are in denial , because Borla frequencies are scientifically designed..there is no variance in the output because the design is controlled... its a fine balance between controlling drone and clean response.. Borla goes for a more aggressive note, and even though drone is an issue, they allow it because their sound is what they want..it gives them the more aggressive idle, great wide open throttle, and pay a little by having drone in the 1500/ 1800 rpm range. I wont argue the point but after spending 3 months with Corsa engineers designing the pace car I learned all there is to know about bending sound under very scientific testing procedures..
anyone happy with their Borla system , that is great, I hope you continue to be happy... Here is the difference.. with Corsa, you wont find a single person on this forum over 19 years to have claimed they have drone with a Corsa system,.. even cars that are modified..
With Borla you will find many who say their is no drone, then you will find a 180 degree claim that their Borla has drone, or has a little drone...the quality control of these systems wont allow for an anything goes manufacturing process where the output varies from no drone to a little drone to enough drone to give you a head ache..... each system is bent and build under very stringent quality control, every system is a clone of each other.. while modified motors can effect the harmonics of any exhaust note. Corsa is the only one that can handily control drone on a Modified LSX motor..
And just to be clear.. Drone has nothing to do with loud... it has everything to do with frequency response... drone is a product of dirty white noise.. its present in every Borla system.. Corsa has 0 white noise at any rpm range.
These are the facts... its the reason Corsa was chosen over the others.. for the Indy pace car.
Right in this thread, there are people who claim no drone, and yet other claim their system has so much drone.. I've experienced Borla on an hour long drive and had a head ache for the experience .. I asked my buddy the owner how he puts up with that drone.. he says you learn to live with it.
So you see people claiming no drone are really in denial. many will come to defend their choice in systems.. and other will stick their chin out an say they made a bad choice and their Borlas do drone.. It takes a very big man to admit their choice was less than perfect.

JMO but the Corsa has a rattlier (is that a word?) sound and the Borla is a deeper throatier (is that a word also!!!) sound. I prefer the sound of the Borla but that's just me!!

Thank You Sir....I think I will buy the Borlas....
