Yeah that is cheap, but it has a rebuilt title. Wouldn't be for me but a cheap way to get into a C5. Cheap until unforeseen problems arise that is.....

Rebuilt titles are big red flags. Flood? Wrapped around a tree and rebuilt at a junk yard? Set on fire with a body inside? I guess cheap is good but there is an old saying about how the sweet taste of a bargain is soon replaced by the bitter taste of big repair bills...

I probably wouldn't purchase it because of the rebuilt.....that being said.....if you can tell when the rebuilt title was issued that would tell you something....If it was issued when the car was very new then a lot of damage occurred to get to 80% value. If it happened recently....Its not going to take a large accident to get to 80% value and total the car. Scraping up a fender, door and quarter would probably do it. I wrecked my CBR in 2001. Insurance totaled it an I bought it back and fixed it myself....Still have the bike....At this time it just sits in the corner of my garage....It is worth more to me than what I could get for it....but I never had any problems rebuilding it...
If it's a green title this is normally just simply a used car. An orange title means rebuilt after it's been totaled. A red title means it's been heavily damaged and carries a salvage title so it's not street legal. It's unsafe for your family."
A green title is supposed to be a normal used car, red would be a problem. Orange would be rebuilt.
Just remember You can go broke trying to save money . Many times I found what I thought was a diamond in the rough only to find out it was a money pit and my " good deal " wasn't so good after all . Just sayin'
Did the seller do the repairs? You only need to find out what the reason is for the salvage title. Plenty of perfectly good cars are scrapped by ins. companies that only need minor work. After you've discovered the reason, have the car checked to be sure the work was done correctly. Do this and you may have a great car for little $.
