Default Transmission won't go in reverse???

I ran my 03 Z06 pretty hard last week at LS Fest. Leaving Vegas the car reversed just fine but after driving it back home, the car won't go in reverse at all. I replaced the reverse lockout solenoid this week and that didn't fix it.

Before the race, sometimes it was hard to get into reverse. It would feel like it's in gear but when I would start to let the clutch out, it would grind. I would have to put in gear and then hold pressure on the shifter with my hand and it would go all the way into reverse when I let the clutch out.

Now the shifter moves all the way to the right but won't go forward at all in reverse.

Any ideas before I have to have the transmission taken out?

Try shifting into 3rd before shifting in reverse. I thought I read somewhere how that can help go into reverse much smoother.

I despise double posting but you should post this in tech. This is a technical issue, and although the Z tranny is different than the base, you'll likely get more responses there.
Can't actually offer any assistance besides that...

Read thought this thread, it may have your answer as to whats happening. My fix was different then some but I believe its really the cause in most cases.

I must be missing something, both links look the same, but the last one works, mine doesn't ...

Sorry.

The car is in the shop, looks like a I'm getting a new transmission. We think a snap ring broke and then grooved the output shaft and broke some other stuff. I don't have all the details yet.

While we are in there I'm going to have a new slave cylinder and clutch out in.

Any suggestions on upgraded slave cylinders? I'm also suffering from the clutch pedal sticking to the floor after high rpm shifts.

I don't know if anybody makes a slave, other than GM. This was the case when I changed my clutch. I did use a Centerforce TO bearing.

There is a reverse lockout that can fail. It is on top of the trans very hard to see. The shop manual says you need to drop the trans to replace it, but doing it by feel I was able to change mine without lowering the trans. Look this up before you go rebuilding your trans unnecessarily. That was all the problem I had. You can buy the lockout on Amazon, costs well under $100, I don't remember exactly.

I replaced the lockout solenoid before taking it to the shop. I wished that was the problem.

Replace clutch master and slave cylinders together and then always keep new clean brake fluid in reservoir. Had same shifting at high rpm problem now 100k miles later smooth in all gears. Also a remote bleeder hose. Should prob have ( ujoints) checked while it's apart
