gotcha, sorry I assumed the actual bulb wires and not the other pair that also fees through that grommet. Aren't the stock bulbs 9006 and not H9?

correct! But don’t the radioflyer ACA headlamps take a different size? I’m going to switch to LED bulbs and want to know the correct size. H9 was not correct. I didn’t try 9006 but I thought the ACA radiodlyer changed it up. Hope you can help. Maybe I’m wrong.

The plug to the car is 9006. So the ballast to car connection is 9006.

The bulb in Radioflyer projectors are H1. They do not use a standard H1 plug.

Don't use LEDs. LEDs in HID projectors are just flat out bad. You lose the hotspot almost completely and output is decreased.

tsumi...thank you. So you are saying the female harness is 9006 but bulb size is H1? Shouldn’t they both be the same? So when I order the hids I ask for th H1? Isn’t the h1 a small bulb that is held in by a clip and not screwed in?

i will stay away from the Leds thanks. I’m just sick of ballasts going bad!

And yes, it is held in by a clip. The projectors from Radioflyer should be of that type.

Hmmm. I am going to have to take some pics of them to show you exactly what I’m talking about. Car is stored for another couple weeks do I will resurrect this then. Thanks fellas

There is no clip for the H1 and looks like it is a screw in. After research it seems there was an early model and a newer model.

The links you you sent me...do those come w ballasts?

Those are bulbs only. Ballasts and igniters are separate.

The Retrofit Source has all HID parts available separately and as packages. Morimoto is the higher end brand, Acme is the budget brand. Lightwerkz is also another good source for these parts.

Profile Performance brand they also carry. Never compared side by side but figure if TRS carries them they may be worth the money.

I believe TRS owns Profile Performance, so it's their in house brand.

You have the replica ACA projectors. Those use a H9 bulb. There should have been a harness supplied with it to adapt 9006 to H9. The harness as I recall also uses relays connected to the battery to enable high-4 operation, and I believe the plug with the red and black wires is part of that harness. I don't recall how it should be plugged, but I believe both stock connectors should plug into the harness, and then the harness to the bulbs. I've cut up my harness to adapt for my own needs, so I can't help much there.

That makes sense thank you for your input. Anyone have any instructions on how to connect? A link? Sure these are replicas? Guess it is an eBay replica? What a bummer!

Replicas were the only ones available after ACA went out of business. The original ACAs used D1S HID bulbs. There are two types of replicas, the $350 Taiwan replicas (which Radioflyer and JWM use), and the cheap $150 Chinese replicas.

Does anyone have issues with the HIDS shaking/bouncing while driving, be it the original ACA or modified radioflyers? I'm almost wanting to throw a halogen bulb in there for now

It is not the HIDs causing the shaking/bouncing while driving. The issue is the design of the C5 light assemblies. The sharp cut off with ACAs running HIDs magnifies the issue that was always present.........it just isn't noticed with halogens and their flood pattern.
The 'Jiggle" as coined a decade or so ago can be removed or reduced to a great degree by replacing some components of the OEM headlight system. It is really pretty easy and inexpensive and there are many posts on this on CF as well as many other forums.

A possible cause.............
The HID bulbs that I have used before had an O ring above the locking ears to keep everything snug

Is this the O ring? I tried it before and it seemed to not fit so I took it off....then was too loose. Maybe it is on backwards if this is what is needed?
