The product of choice now is the LMC5. That would be the one I would go with.

I've had the CLB installed since the fall of 2007. Only had 1 little hiccup with is shortly after the install. Got it replaced and have not had any issues since. Not sure if it was replaced or he found nothing wrong with the original and sent it back but it's been working great for 10 years almost now.

The reason there's a discrepancy is possibly because of what time period you have experienced column lock issues.

Recently, the LMC5 has been the go-to for all CLB issues and it's proven itself to be the definitive solution for the time being. Also Richard's esteemed customer service and commitment to the product is quite unparalleled.

At times prior to the LMC5, people went to the standard CLB relays that install under the column. A lot of vendors still offer these. You'll see them sometimes referred to as "Corvettes of Houston CLBs" (per the popular vendor that offered them) or similar names.

Ideally you will want to purchase the LMC5
